Catch & Release Best Practices

Catch & Release Best Practices

With the seasonably warm days forecasted for us, it is a good reminder that we should all be practicing good fish handling for all salmon and trout. Keeping fish in the water avoids delayed mortality and increasing their risk of predation and disease. These risks are even greater with warm temperatures.

Anglers can therefore play a significant part in maintaining the health of fish in the river by following good catch, handling and release practice. The catch and release method is described in the Don’s Conservation Code so please encourage all anglers to follow this.
