On 23 July our President, Paul Adderton, and Management Committee member John Dewar & Bothy Convenor Davie Knowles met up with Nick Drake who was leading this walk down the Dee in aid of raising funds for Teenage Cancer Trust at our Bothy.

This initiative by Nick is in memory of his son Charlie, a keen angler on the Dee who died of cancer (leukaemia) at the age of 19.

What makes this even more of a tragedy is that both father and son planned to do this walk before Charlie was to join the Royal Marines.

However, it is pleasing to know that the walk has been done both in memory and by raising awareness of this terrible disease and receiving donations to the Teenage Charity Trust.  

To date the walk has raised over £25,000 from donations collected on the walk including donations from anglers, gillies, the Association, & as well as member of the public.
