Orvis Day

Aberdeen & District Angling Association committee would like to thank all of the Orvis team, Ben Dixon, Allan Everington, Paul Proctor and Davie Stewart who gave some very useful casting demonstrations and allowed our members to try out all of the Orvis collection of lines and rods, whilst giving tips and instruction at the same time.

We would also like to thank the two fly tyers, Kevin Muir and Peter Macallan who gave demonstrations to many people through out the afternoon and paid special attention to the younger members of the club, it was great to see so many children tying their first flies on the day.

Thanks also goes to Robert Stephens for the use of his sound equipment, which allowed the members to actually hear the commentary this year, a great improvement I think.

Jim Cameron for his one handed bacon cookery skills and John Jamieson for his many tea and coffee duties.

Most of all thanks to all the members and guests who came along on the day and supported us, it's a bit of a worry not knowing if anyone will turn up, thanks for not letting us down!

A collection of just under £100 was raised this being split between the Dee and Don Trusts. Thanks for being so generous.
