River Don Trust Launched (29 Oct)

On Thursday 29th Oct 2008, at the Don District Salmon Board’s AGM, the River Don Trust was officially launched. As outlined by the Trust’s Chairman, Dave Gordon, the Trust’s remit is much wider than that of the DDSBs which will allow a wide scope of projects to be carried out. The Trust has hit the ground running, it has initial funding in place, some generously provided by the ADAA, has a River Don Fishery Management Plan under preparation which will be out for consultation in four weeks and is finalising the job description for it’s own Fishery biologist. More detail and up to date information on the Trust can be viewed on the Trusts recently launched website www.riverdon.org.uk

A Word Of Warning ( 16 August 2008 )

Members fishing in the area where the Dee counter has just been removed, should take extra care if they intend to wade. The heavy machinery used for the excavation has created some very deep holes and it will take a good spate to level out the shingle and fill them in. Please be very carefull.

Waterside Farm ( 9 August 2008 )

From 1st August for 4 weeks whilst the fish counter is being removed, there will be no access to Banchory Devenick fishings via Waterside Farm. Anglers wishing access to the beat can walk up from Leggert Terrace or down from the car park at the Bridge Pool. There will be a path provided around the works. A further notice will appear here when the works are completed and Waterside Farm again becomes accessible. Pictures of the demolition work can be viewed --Here
