Don Charitable Trust
The Trust & its website were officially launched on 29 October. The Fishery Management Plan is almost ready to be released for consultation purposes.
Loch
The bird scarer erected to try to tackle the cormorant problem has not been a success. A scarecrow will now be erected.
Watchers
A meeting has been organised for the watchers at the bothy at 7pm on Thursday 6 November. The Don River Superintendent will also be attending.
AWPR
Awaiting response from the public local inquiry
Ardlethen
Aberdeenshire Council are amenable to allowing parking on the verge at the Tarves side of the bridge at Ardlethen.
Dee Trust
The timing of passing on the approved donation of £1000 has still to be decided.
Rules and so on 2009
The Committee decided to publicise them via the website as soon as possible.

Some have been sold.

Don District Salmon Fishery Board AGM
The Board supported a total catch & release policy on sea trout.
Heaviest Fish
A claim for the heaviest rainbow trout has been received. It weighed 4lb 12ozs & was caught on fly at the loch on 27 September.
Planning Application
A letter dated 29 October has been received from Aberdeenshire Council regarding the Associations objection to the planning application for formation of a storage yard at Ardlethen Quarry. The Council confirm that the Formartine Area Committee at its meeting on 28th October decided to refuse full planning permission. The Ythan Convenor was congratulated for the work he had put into objecting about the application.
Statutory Catch Returns
Catch Return notices have been received from the Don District Salmon Fishery Board. The Secretary confirmed he had also received statutory notices from the Scottish Government.
